ABOUT AMANDA

Originally from Texas, Amanda moved out to sunny California where she graduated from Stanford University in 2000. She is currently getting her teacher credential to teach middle school. She loves playing ultimate frisbee, reading, and cooking.

ABOUT BARRY

Barry grew up in New York and attended the University of Pennsylvania. He finished his PhD in Biochemistry at Stanford University in the summer of 2003 and is currently an associate medical director for a medical communications firm in San Mateo. He enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, bike riding, and making crepes.

HOW WE MET

We met playing on the same ultimate frisbee team, Commanding Moses.

HOW IT HAPPENED

We were driving back from a frisbee tournament in Marin on Memorial Day, and Barry unexpectedly turned into the Golden Gate National Recreational Area right before we got onto the Golden Gate Bridge. We drove up to the end of the road, parked, and walked to the very top, which has a fantastic view of the sparkling blue bay and the San Francisco skyline. It was a gorgeous, clear day-- the view was spectacular, so just being there was special. But then Barry got down on one knee and offered me the most beautiful ring and a life together. Of course I accepted- he is the most wonderful guy in the whole world, and we will be so happy spending our lives together.

ABOUT THE BIG DAY

We're starting with a short and sweet outdoor wedding ceremony on the patio of the Foothill Club. Then we'll move into the Clubhouse, which was designed by Julia Morgan, for appetizers and a buffet dinner. We are hoping for sunny and warm weather in the afternoon, but it may get chilly later on in the evening.

Amanda Hall and Barry Lubarsky

Amanda Susan Hall and Barry Leonard Lubarsky were married June 26 at the Saratoga Foothill Club. The bride's grandfather, Bill Dildine, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Donna and David Hall of Houston, Texas. Her grandparents, Bill and Genee Dildine, have been Los Alto residents since 1970. She is a graduate of Saint Agnes Academy in Houston and earned a bachelor's of science degree in computer science at Stanford University. She is a math teacher at Fisher Middle School in Los Gatos.

The groom is the son of Ethel and Paul Lubarsky of Syosset, N.Y. He is a graduate of Syosset High School, received a bachelor's of science degree in biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and a doctorate in biochemistry from Stanford University.

The couple will reside in Los Altos.
