He moved with his parents to the ranch near Templeton when he was four years old. He went through the Templeton schools, attended. Junior College in San Luis 0bispo, and graduated from Fresno State College. He spent two years in the armed services, serving stateside In CIC. Upon his discharge from the Army he worked in the Los Angeles area two years for General Telephone Company, taking night courses in education. His first school was in Shandon, California, later in the Paso Robles schools. He was Superintendent of the San Miguel school, a principal in Paso Robles, and. at the time of his death, he was Superintendent of the Templeton schools. He held a Master's degree from California State Polytechnic College in San Luis Obispo. He is buried in Paso Robles. Carolyn Bollinger had two sons by a previous marriage, Chris and Kurt Bollinger.
