8 Jan. 1825 Heard that JAMES MCKEANS's eldest child is dead, also OLIVER MITCHEL's wife. 17 Jan. 1825 Heard that Mrs. BARKLEY was buried on Sabbath last. (ie, the 16th) 24 Feb 1825 On the 21st inst. I neglected to mention that I heard of the death of JOSEPH DILWORTH, SAMUEL's son. 1 Mar 1825 Heard that old Mrs. SAMPLE died on the 29 Jan ult. 10 Mar. 1825 Heard that a man, by name ANDERSON, hanged himself perhaps yesterday. 2 May 1825 Heard that PEGGY BEER, JOHN's, was married on Thursday week last (ie Apr. 18th) 19 June 1825 Heard that Mrs. WATSON died at Dustin's on Saturday evening. (ie the 18th) 24 June 1825 Proceeded toward Motours Congregation. Heard that Mrs. COCHRAN is very low. Met JAMES COCHRAN coming from Canonsburgh to see his mother. 27 June 1825 Heard that Mrs. COCHRAN died on Friday last (ie the 24th) and old Mrs. CAUGHY on Sabbath (ie, the 26th) 30 June 1825 Heard that SALLY SCOTT, Junr. died today 1 July 1825 Attended the funeral of SALLY SCOTT 2 July 1825 Heard that JOSEPH HUGHES died today 8 July 1825 Heard that JAMES TIDD(?) had a child died with dysentary perhaps. 14 July 1825 Herad that old Mrs. MARSHALL near Marvin's is dead. 15 July 1825 Heard that Mr. BOYD died yesterday afternoon (an earlier entry stated that Mr. BOYD had consumption). Attended the funeral. 20 July 1825 Heard that SUSANNA BOVARD is dead. 26 July 1825 Heard that old Mr. DAVISON died this morning. JULIE MCCLOSKY called and said Mrs. HENDERSON died this morning. NATHAN CORY came and said that WM. HERVEY had just died. 27 July 1825 Attended Mrs. HENDERSON's funeral-she died at Mr. CHAIN'S, was interred near Bull Creek Meeting house and aged 86 almost. Old THOMAS DAVISON was buried at father's and HERVEY'S boy at Emerys Church. 7 Aug. 1825 Three of HARTZEL'S children have been married since I was here last fall viz. HENRY, JONAS AND CHRISTINA. 12 Aug. 1825 Heard that Wm. HINSON is dead. 26 Aug. 1825 ROBT. MARTIN called and said that DANEIL BOWL's wife and two sons are dead of a fever. 1 Sept 1825 Heard that old Mr. RIDDLE is dead. 16 Sept. 1825 Heard that JOHN BEER died last night between 12 and one o'clock. Attended his funeral in evening-the procession numerous. 24 Sept. 1825 Heard that CORNELIUS SHEHAN was interred on last Sabbath (ie the 18th) 29 Sept. 1825 BETSY DILWORTH is married today to THOMAS SPROTT 3 Oct 1825 ROBT. TAGGART said that FORBIS's eldest child is dead. 20 Oct. 1825 Heard that sister POLLY (wife of Dr. HUGH MARTIN) had a young daughter this morning. 26 Oct 1825 Heard that old Mr. MACKY died last night. 15 Nov. 1825 We visited JOHN HERVEY's infant which is very ill. 16 Nov. 1825 Heard that HERVEY's child died this morning before daylight. 1 Dec. 1825 Heard that a little boy of JOHN DAVISON's was killed yesterday. 23 Dec. 1825 Preached at JACOB CORNELL's and baptized his two children, viz. DRUSILLA and BENJAMIN. (in Virginia) 24 Jan. 1826 Baptized five children-three for GEORGE WANLESS and two for GEORGE FRATER. (in Virginia) 9 Feb. 1826 Heard that ROBT. SCOTT and SAML. HANNAH's wife died during my absence. 13 Feb. 1826 Heard that POLLY RUSSEL is dead. 26 Feb. 1826 Heard that old Mrs. ROOSE was buried on Saturday last. (ie the 25th) 20 Mar. 1826 Heard that Mrs. IMBRIE died yesterday. 30 Mar. 1826 Brother JAMES (DILWORTH) went to see HANNAH BEER married to THOMAS CUNNINGHAM. 3 Sept. 1826 Preached in Scotch settlement. Baptized two children for PETER DALLAS, viz. MARGARET and NANCY. 5 Sept. 1826 Visited at BENJAMIN WALLACE's, his wife lately had twins. 15 Sept. 1826 Heard that Doc COCHRAN is married to Mrs. JONES 19 Sept. 1826 Heard that Mr. HINDMAN died this morning at 3 o'clock (at Pleasant Valley) Went thither in evening. 20 Sept. 1826 Attended Mr. HINDMAN's funeral. 23 Sept. 1826 Heard that ANNE MCKEAN was married on Thursday to Mr. HARBISON (ie the 21st) 28 Sept. 1826 Rode to Columbiana and solemnized marriage between JACOB BUSH and JANE EWING at the house of Mr. MOODY 29 Sept. 1826 Heard that ELIZA THOMAS and JOHN COURTNEY were married on Wednesday night (ie, the 27th) 3 Oct. 1826 Heard that Mr. WM. PORTER was deceased lately. 12 Nov. 1826 Baptized two children: one for DANIEL SMITH, (CATHERINE) and one for ANDREW MCINTOSH (NANCY) 15 Nov. 1826 Margt. and I visited at THOS. SMART's, Jane having had a young daughter lately. 25 Nov. 1826 Heard that IBBY HERVEY died today. 4 Dec. 1826 Heard that a child of JOHN EARLY's died today. Heard that Mr. JAMES GURL dropped dead lately-perhaps Friday last (ie, the 1st) 17 Dec. 1826 Baptized a child for DAVID HANNA (at Pleasant Valley) 18 Dec. 1826 Heard that JAMES DOUGLASS, at the falls of Beaver, committed suicide by hanging on Saturday last. (ie, the 16th) 21 Dec. 1826 Heard that JAMES HUGHES of Brookfield, son of Widow HUGHES, was suddenly killed on Saturday last by a log at a raising. (ie, the 16th)

18 Jan 1827 Heard that J.W. REYNOLDS died on Tuesday evening last (ie, Jan 16th) and that RICHARD MCCHESNEY died on last evening. 20 Jan 1827 Heard that Mr. LAWRENCE died on Monday or Tuesday last (it, the 15th or 16th) 12 Feb 1827 Baptized a child for Mr. VALLENDINGHAM (at New Lisbon). Returned home and called at JAMES TAGGART's and learned his wife was delivered last night of a daughter. 9 Mar. 1827 Heard that MATILDA BOYD died last evening of consumption. 22 Apr. 1827 Baptized a child for FAARER called NANCY (at Yellow Creek) 4 May 1827 WM. MCCASKY called and informed us that old Mrs. DAVIDSON (JOHN HUGHES mother-in-law) died this evening. 14 May 1827 Wrote a short letter to DAVID SCOTT excusing myself from attending his daughter ELIZA's marriage Thursday next. (ie, 17 May) 27 May 1827 Heard that a man named FINCH was killed last evening near Fairfield by his horse. 10 June 1827 Heard that AARON STRATTAN's oldest child was killed in the mill a few days ago. 18 June 1827 Heard that SAML HANNA was married last week to POLLY CAUGHY, third wife. 24 June 1827 Preached at Yellow Creek. Baptized two children- one for JOHN COLLER and one for PETER ROSS. 29 June 1827 Heard that old MICHAEL ROLLER died a few days ago. 9 July 1827 Heard that ROBERT MOOR had a child die this morning-went to the burying. 12 July 1827 JOHN ROOSE's son LEML. called and informed us that Mrs. SCOTT died last night. (the schoolmaster's wife) 13 July 1827 Attended the funeral. 20 July 1827 Heard that THOS. MCMIN's wife is very ill. 23 July 1827 Heard that Mrs. MCMIN died yesterday morning and was buried yesterday. 16 Aug. 1827 WM. MCNIGHT junr died this evening about dark of flux. 17 Aug. 1827 Attended a short while at MCNIGHT's. The funeral was performed today. 26 Aug. 1827 Preached at Yellow Creek. Baptized a child for WM. MCINTOSH named MARY, and one for JAMES MCINTOSH named ALEXANDER. 4 Sept. 1827 Attended the funeral of DAVID LUKE's little boy who died this morning with flux. 9 Sept. 1827 Preached in Pleasant Valley. Baptized a child for ANDREW MARTIN and one for ROBERT MARTIN. 19 Sept. 1827 Old Mrs. SCOTT died last night and is to be interred this afternoon. 20 Sept. 1827 Went to JAMES EATON's and solemnized marriage between his daughter MARY and STEPHEN LEONARD. 25 Sept. 1827 Heard that GEORGE MCKEEN junr was married lately to Miss ROSS, daughter of THOS ROSS of Brighton. 4 Oct. 1827 Heard that Mr. GIBSON had a child died this morning. 15 Dec. 1827 Heard that old Mrs. MCCLURE is dead. 30 Dec. 1827 Baptized a child for THOS. 1828 23 Jan 1828 Heard that old Mrs. CLARK, ROBERT's wife, died lately. 26 Mar. 1828 Old Mr. EARLY died this morning about 10 o'clock. 27 Mar. 1828 Heard that a daughter of WILLIAM TAYLOR's is married today to a Mr. PATTON. 16 Apr. 1828 Heard that JOHN BROWN is to be married tomorrow to Miss ZEPPERNICK. 21 Apr. 1828 Ordained ANDREW SMITH and DANIEL MCINTOSH and installed DANIEL MCCOY and DANIEL SMITH elders in Yellow Creek Congregation. 25 Apr. 1828 Heard that Mrs. DUSTIN died yesterday. 30 APR. 1828 A Mrs. AUGUSTINE who lived adjoining Unity was buried today. 13 May 1828 Mr. ARMSTRON's daughter is to be married today to Mr. STEVENS. 15 May 1828 Hear that Aunt NANCY, BENJAMIN DILWORTH's widow is married to Esq. GILSON. 22 May 1828 Heard that JAMES SCOTT (schoolmaster) is to be married tonight to the widow MEEK. 26 May 1828 I baptized ABIGAIL DILDINE. (at Pleasant Valley) 4 June 1828 Heard that Mrs. MCKEAN died last night. 5 June 1828 Attended Mrs. MCKEAN's funeral. 15 June 1828 Heard that old ANDREW MOOR died on Friday night. (ie the 13th) 3 July 1828 Heard that WILLIAM BURT's son died lately. 21 July 1828 JOHN THOMAS died this evening and old ROBT. JOHNSTON's on Georgetown road died this morning. 2 Aug. 1828 JOHN BEER, son to Rev. BEER, died a few days since. 7 Aug. 1828 ROBERT DILWORTH, (JOSEPH's son) had a child die today, having got burned a few days ago. 14 Aug. 1828 Old JOSEPH SMITH died today, WILLIAM MCCALLA, son to DAVID, and also ADAM KELLER were both suffocated in McCalla's well, by carbonic acid gas, today about noon and both are dead. 15 Aug. 1828 Attended funeral (MCCALLA AND KELLER) 18 Aug. 1828 This morning called to see Mrs. ROSE who is very will having a stillborn child one week since. 30 Aug. 1828 Heard that PEGGY BOVARD died yesterday. 6 Sept. 1828 Saw MARY ALEXANDER, formerly MARY ANDERSON, she with her husband and two children arrived yesterday on a visit to her friends. I baptized two children, one for JEAN HARRARD and one for SAML. DIMMAREE. 11 Sept. 1828 JOHN JOHNSTON and wife (formerly MARGARET TAGGERT) called. 21 Sept. 1828 Old JOHN MCCALLA died yesterday evening, buried today. 22 Sept. 1828 SAMSON DILWORTH's little boy, LEONARD, died this morning. 23 Sept. 1828 Funeral at SAMSON's. His little buried at father's. 27 Sept. 1828 Heard that AARON MENDINGHALL died on Thursday night (ie, the 25th) 28 Sept. 1828 Heard that Doctor ADAMS died about 10 o'clock A.M. in Petersburgh. 4 Oct. 1828 I baptized a child for ALEXR BAILY. 23 Oct. 1828 JOSEPH BAIRD having gone out to Springfield a few days ago, returned with a wife. 13 Nov. 1828 Heard that Judge BROWN died last night. 14 Nov. 1828 Attended the funeral. 3 Dec. 1828 JOHN BEAR and his wife (formerly CATY HENNING) called. 6 Dec. 1828 Heard that Rev. COOK died on last Sabbath morning (ie Nov. 30th) having retired the night before in usual health and not known to be ill till found dead in bed. Heard also that Mrs. MCPHALL died some days ago.
