**Yanakico, wife of Herman in his will,  is Jannetje DeVore.  I have documentation to prove that.
**The census, lawyers/clerks etc decided whether it would be 1 or 2 LLs in DILDINE.
**Jonathan came to TN from Carolinas.  His descendants(my line) were all born in TN.
I do not know any of Jonathan's siblings.  I do not know Herman of NC/SC wife's name.
Any ideas?
Jonathan had 2 sets of children.  His first set was Jane, Jonathan Jr, James and Hezekiah.
2nd set named Melinda, Famanah, armon and Nancy.
!st wife of Jonathan Unknown.  2nd wife Nancy Meelkey Garrett.
There is 1 or more Hermans in every generation since.

Herman Dildine was a Loyalist and he fought in the Snow campaign.  Everything I read convinces me more that Herman Dildine of SCis the misplaced son of Herman and  Jianco(Jannetge Devore Dildine..  The Snow Campaign was fought in the Upcountry of SC.  That is where Herman lived.  It was called the Snow Campaign because there was 15 inches of snow on the ground.  According to historians the Upcountry of SC(Old Craven Co SC, which was made up of a part of Tyron Co NC) was settled the men from the North.  MD/PA/VA,  First came the traders and then the settlers I just mentioned.
The people who migrated from the South did not co-mingle with the northern immigrants until after the war.Unless someone can give me some proof/documentation to the contrary I will contend that Herman of SC is son of Herman Dildine of NJ.  I cannot find a thing to discourage me.  I know Betty Mann said in her book or someone did that he died but I think that was an assumption.
What I don't have is the settlement of Herman's (NJ) will.  I wonder if it exists.
Do you know where I would look for a will that was written probably in Hunterdon Co NJ?  I have a copy of the will they sent me but I did not ask for settlement.  I just gave them the record number for the will.  I guess I can write to same place, if I can remember where I wrote the first time.  I wish someone from NJ would help me.  I wonder if there are any Dildines left in that county?
Take care and have a great week Peggy
