Mr. Fehrman was born on a farm near Boynton, Tazewell County, Illinois, the son of Henry and Susan (Hannah) Fehrman. His father, a farmer by occupation, died when his son Henry was only seven years old. The mother was of Pennsylvania ancestry and was born in southern Illinois, October 8, 1841, and died at Evanston, Illinois, February 1, 1915.
Henry J. Fehrman up to the age of twenty lived on the farm where he was born, and this farm is still owned by one of his brothers.
