Mrs. Emery Marshall Dies At Her Home Here Eighty-Five Years Old
Mrs. Emery Marshall died at her home here Sunday morning, October 25, 1942, following a stroke. She had lived in Erie and vicinity practically her entire lifetime and had a host of friends who will regret to learn of her passing. She was a good neighbor and a kind friend to everyone.
Margaret Jane Dildine was born in Hartford, Indiana, January 23, 1857 and in 1868 she came to Kansas with her parents, the family settling on a farm in the Excelsior vicinity south of Erie. She was married to Emery Marshall at Erie, Mr. Marshall preceding her in death in 1933. A son, Guy Marshall, also preceded her in death in 1913.
She is survived by a son, Chester G. MArshall, southwest of Erie; two sisters, Mrs. O. L. Clark of Parsons and Mrs. F. A. Weast, Modesto, Claifornia; and three brothers, N.W. Dildine, St. Paul; Dane (Daniel) Dildine and Ira Dildine, Modesto, and also five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at the Federated church, Monday afternoon, and urial was made in the Galesburg cemetery. The services were in charge of Rev. J. W. Hadley.
The Heaton Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
