Hi Gayle,

I got a few spare minutes (even though I told you not to expect this for
a while) and pulled my Proctor file. Here's what I have on Margaret's
family.

All of these from Ancestry.com and the same books at Clayton Library,
Houston, TX abstracts of these records:

'Virgina County Roecords Spotsylvania County 1721-1800'
Will Book A 1722-1749, page 2

George; son John, half the land I now live on, with the manor plantation

Elizabeth; sons Hexekiah and William Ellis, Col. Joseph Brock. Leg.
daughter Mary Proctor; son Hezekiah Ellis; daughter Elizabeth Hawkins;
daughter Ann O'Neal; son William Ellis; son John Ellis; daughter Agnes

years, I desire that Robert O'Neal take his estate into his possession.

James of Fredksbg. 35pounds curr. 150 a. in Spts. Co., part of a tract
of land devised by George Proctor, Decd., to his daughter, Margaret who
inter-married with Elias Sharp, father of the sd. George Sharp, who is
eldest son and heir at law of sd. Elias, who dying intestate, whereby
sd. land descended to the sd. George, party to these presents, etc.

March 2, 1757. Aaron Grigsby of King Geo. Co., planter and Margaret, his
wife; John Proctor of Spts. Co., planter, and Sarah, his wife, to John
Mitchell of Fredksbg., Mercht. 35 pounds curr. 150 a. in St. Geo. Par.,
Spts. Co., devised by the last will and testament of George Proctor,
Decd., to his daughter, Margaret, now the wife of Aaron Grigsby, and to
John Proctor son and heir at law of the sd. George, the testator. M.
Battaley, J. Sutherland, Hugh Lenox. May 3, 1757.

I believe the William Proctor above to be a brother of George Proctor,
Margarets father, but I have no proof yet. I intend to do more research
on him in the hopes of finding a connection and perhaps through him
their parents.

I have some other data that makes me believe Mary, George Proctor's
wife, is an Ellis. At first I thought that this William Ellis might be
her father but then realized if he had a son in 1766 that wasn't twenty
yet I was trying to stretch way to far. But he might be her brother. I
have quite a bit on his children but haven't been able to prove his
parentage either.

I don't have enough time right now to dig further in my data but this
should get you started in the right direction. At least you have her
parents names. OH! Her sister, Mary, married Charles Steward. Her
sister, Elizabeth married George Hume. Her brother John married a
Sarah. Margaret married Aaron Grigsby before March 2, 1757.

Hope this all helps and I will send more later.
