John Proctor (brother to david and sidney) went to Illinois and died Jun 1898 Hancock Co. IL probably in Carthage Cem. Carthage IL since
that is where his second wife, Amelia Hurst Proctor died 1902 and was buried there.

Either there was another john proctor in hancock IL from SC or they made an error, but then there is this: John Proctor, age 57, b. KY Carthage Twp, roll 226 page 68 Hancock County IL 1870 census. Amelia, 47. Children: Peter H., 17, Alice, 10, Jackson, 8, Minerva E., 6, David R. 5, and James P. b. 1870 With a child named Minerva, it looks as though there might have been a third wife. ?? Butler (daughter of George Butler, a pioneer Kentuckian born 1775, died October 3, 1846). John and Mary had 4 children; William Franklin Proctor b. Sept 7 1838 -d. Dec. 13,1910. Mary Evaline Proctor b. May 21, 1842 - d. April 23, 1924. George Thomas Proctor b. Nov.8. 1844 - d. March 17, 1883. Minerva Angeline Proctor b. Nov.13, 1846 - d. June 8, 1927.
