Dear Jane, The George you speak of b. 1742 is the child of William Proctor d. 1753. I come down from his brother Charles Proctor who m. Lucy Lewis. The genealogical chart I have- made by Mrs. Arthur Rowbotham, Altavista, Virginia Oct. 15, 1934 says, and I quote exactly:

George, b. 1742, in Caroline Co., Va. in Rev. War from Albemarle Co. Va. Pen. Claim S30666. Went to Kentucky- Rockcastle Co., where he had lived about 20 years.

A straight horizontal line is drawn under this little note with a little verticle line under it. It doesn't say who this George married but indicates he at least had one son named George. I think any reasonable person looking at this chart would read it the way I am. So, if this IS true?? George [b. 1742] had a son, George, b. 1760 who m. Jane Thomas dtr of John Thomas. Issue of George Proctor and Jame [Thomas] Proctor were:
