Notes for Ann Bryant
I inherited an old hand-written Genealogical Chart by Mrs. Arthur Rowbotham of Altavista, Virginia she dated Oct 15, 1934. I am a direct descendant of William Proctor who married Ann Bryant. Ann was born in 1687 and was the daughter of Dr. Richard Bryant who d. in 1704. Dr. Bryant married the widow Ann Redman, who then had a son, William Redman. Dr. Bryant and Ann Redman Bryant had Elizabeth (b. 1677), Nathaniel, Ann, Richard (b. 1687), Sylent (b. 16880, and Susannah (b. 1689). On this chart it says Ann Bryant (b.1687),married William Proctor, son of George Proctor. George had a brother named "Brother" Thomas Proctor. George Proctor m. first, Ann, m. second, Katherine Frank in 1693. This George had George Proctor, Sr. who m. Mary-- and died in 1738. Witness by Geo. Humes-Homes. Mrs. Rowbotham had a little note written on the paper here saying "In Bacon's Rebellion" but I don't know if its referring to George Proctor, Sr., [d. 1738] or Geo. Humes or Homes. George and Mary had George, Jr, Margaret who m. Elias Sharp, Mary who m. Charles Stewart, and Elizabeth Proctor who m. George Hume in 1727. Her note says George Hume came from Scotland 1717-1719, settled under Spotswood at Germantown, Spotsylvania Co., Va,
and is father of George who married Elizabeth Proctor in 1724. I come down from William Proctor [his brother George m. Mary] who m. Ann Bryant and it's a little confusing because of the intermarriage. Here goes:

William Proctor [d. 1753, VA] and Ann Bryant had issue: George, b. 1742, Charles, Elizabeth, and Mary. My line descends from both Charles Proctor and his sister Mary Proctor in this fashion.

Charles Proctor [d. Abt. 1783, prob. KY] married Lucy Lewis. One of their children was Lydia Proctor who m. Philip Robertson. Philip was b. Abt 1812 in Shelbyville, KY. Lydia and Philip had a daughter, Matilda Robertson, b: 23-Dec-1804 in Shelby Co., KY and she d. 1853 in Graffensburg, KY. She m. James Twyman, Jr.

Charles' sister, Mary Proctor, who d. 1856 in Shelby Co., KY, m. Archibald Robertson, Jr. Archibald was b: 29-Jan-1780 in Chesterfield, VA. They married 16-Nov-1805 in Shelby, Kentucky. He died 05-Jun-1824 in Waddy, Shelby, KY. Mary and Archibald had a son, Philip Robertson, b: Abt. 1812 in Shelbyville, Kentucky. PHILIP ROBERTSON, DESCENDANT OF WILLIAM PROCTOR MARRIED LYDIA PROCTOR, DESCENDANT OF WILLIAM PROCTOR. Philip and Lydia [Proctor]Robertson had a daughter, Matilda Robertson who m. James Twyman. They had a daughter, Martha Jane Twman, d: 10-May-1922 who married Benjamin Franklin Wigginton, Sr. I am descended from this line.
