Looking Back says that she came to join her father in Woodland. In the 1880 California census, there is only one Jakob Greiner, and he is in Yolo County. He is from Wurtemburg and his birth (1827) fits as Christina’s father. From the Jakob Greiner 1880 census record, perhaps Jakob sent for her to watch after his young children? Christina was born 23 Oct 1852. The earliest Jakob could have left Germany is February 1852, given Christina’s birthdate.
