As you know, I'm Jennifer Elam Bawden, the owner of the list. I also host 5 East Central Kentucky counties within the KY GenWeb project. My Proctor line is through James Proctor. He was born 4 May 1774 in either New York or Virginia. He died 14 Aug 1858 in Rockcastle Co., KY and was buried in the James Proctor Cem., Rockcastle Co., KY. It's suspected that his father was George Proctor (Abt. 1742 , Caroline Co. , VA - Abt. 1834 , Rockcastle Co., KY).

James married Magdalena Brenneman on 20 Jun 1799 in Albermarle Co., VA. Madgalena was born in either PA or VA. Her father was David Brenneman (Abt 1754 , Lancaster Co., PA - Abt 1820 , Westmoreland Co., PA ). She died in Rockcastle Co., KY. On the 1850 Rockcastle Co. Census, James is listed with a wife named Mary. Some have documented that this was Magdalena's sister, Mary, but she married someone in PA.

The children of James are listed below. Since there is a confusion regarding wives and the last 2 children, I'm not sure who the mother was of all these children:

"Snooky" Proctor

Nothing is known of these two children. "Snooky" is obviously a nickname, but her true name isn't known.

I descend through Anderson Proctor and have quite a bit of information on this family. If this links with you, let me know!

Ok...how about the rest of you?

Jen
